Frequently asked questions
Licensing, project use, formats, production, credits and custom soundtrack work.
Licensing and use
What can I use HAI Soundworks music for?
Games and other interactive media, YouTube and other video content, trailers, teasers and cinematics, social and branded content, advertisements and promotional campaigns, livestreams, presentations and exhibitions, and client or work-for-hire projects, commercial or not.
Prototypes, game jams and demos are covered too. The license covers the music inside your project, not the music on its own: tracks cannot be resold, redistributed or uploaded as standalone audio.
Is the music royalty-free, and can I monetize my project?
Yes. Packs are licensed on a non-exclusive, perpetual and worldwide basis. “Royalty-free” means that, with a valid license, you pay no recurring royalty or revenue share for permitted use.
Completed projects that contain the music may be monetized, whether they are games, videos or advertisements. Ownership and exclusive rights stay with HAI Soundworks, which may keep selling and streaming the same music.
Files and integration
Can I edit the music to fit my project?
Yes. You can edit, cut, arrange, fade and loop sections of the tracks as your project needs.
Tracks are full-length compositions and are not promised as seamless loops unless a pack says so. Stems, loops and alternate mixes are not included unless the product page or the download says so.
What audio formats are included?
All current HAI Soundworks music packs include both WAV and MP3 versions. WAV files are supplied at 44.1 kHz / 16-bit for production use, and MP3 files at 320 kbps for lightweight use and prototyping.
The itch.io project page still lists the exact files included with each release.
Production
Does HAI Soundworks use AI in music production?
Yes. AI tools are used to assist with orchestration, arrangement, sound exploration and production. Many tracks begin with original melodies, chord progressions, guitar or looper ideas, MIDI sketches, or other musical material created for HAI Soundworks. Releases are not simply generated and uploaded: material is selected, edited, cleaned, quality-checked, mastered, curated and prepared for release by HAI Soundworks.
Is every track made the same way?
No. Some tracks begin with an original melody, chord progression, guitar or looper idea, or MIDI sketch. Others begin from a written scene, function or musical direction and are developed with AI-assisted tools.
Either way, every public release goes through HAI Soundworks’ own selection and release preparation.
Is the music reviewed before release?
Yes. Releases are curated by hand and checked for musical fit, artifacts, unwanted noise, awkward starts and endings, consistency and overall usefulness. Material that does not meet the bar is rejected, not published automatically.
What remains is cleaned, mastered and prepared for release.
Rights and custom work
Can I register the music with Content ID or another automated claiming system?
No. The license does not allow registering the music, or any edited version of it, with YouTube Content ID, Meta Rights Manager, Audible Magic or similar systems, and you may not authorize anyone else to do so on your behalf.
Your finished project can still be monetized. If a third party makes an automated claim against it, HAI Soundworks can provide reasonable proof of license where possible, but cannot guarantee that a platform removes the claim.
Can I resell, redistribute or upload the tracks as standalone music?
No. The license is for using the music inside a completed project, not for distributing the music itself. That includes reselling the files, repackaging them in audio libraries or sound packs, and uploading them as standalone music to streaming platforms, music stores or content platforms.
A completed project that contains the music, such as a game, film or video, can be distributed and sold. The files themselves can be shared with your team or client only when that is needed to build, deliver or maintain the project.
Do I need to credit HAI Soundworks?
If your project includes credits, please use:

Can I use the tracks for AI training or datasets?
No. The license does not allow using the music for AI model training, datasets or similar systems.
The fact that HAI Soundworks uses AI tools in production does not change that: it gives licensees no permission to use the released audio for model training or datasets.
Are custom soundtracks exclusive?
Catalog and music-pack licenses are non-exclusive. Custom soundtrack work is agreed separately, in a written agreement.
In the standard custom soundtrack arrangement, you receive the project-use rights set out in your agreement, while HAI Soundworks retains the underlying music rights and may separately release, stream and monetize the soundtrack as an OST. Where your project has credits, the agreement should normally include an appropriate HAI Soundworks music credit.
Exclusivity, buyout or assignment, or restrictions on a separate OST release are not included by default. They can be negotiated separately as additional rights and are priced separately. A signed custom agreement governs that project.
